Wedu empowers emerging leaders from the poorest corners of the world by providing financial and, more importantly, non-financial support to access quality higher education, to gain work, life experience and the tools to enable them to become masters of development in their home communities.

 

Why invest in higher education?

Because it makes a lot of sense! “Investments in education are linked to economic development and long-term social outcomes such as better health, political understanding and interpersonal trust. “the net public return is almost three times the cost of investing in tertiary education.”(OECD).

Why Wedu?

We do not simply provide free capital, but invest in students. We strive to create the best condition for the students to be successful, so they can reinvest their future incomes in other students.

How do we do it?

We follow a leadership lifecycle starting at higher education. We reach out to the students, assist them with the application process for university, provide financial support to complete their higher education and connect them to mentors and networks that can help them achieve their full potential.

What can we do together?

We are developing a network of people who want to make change happen. We call these people Education Angels. You can become an Angel by providing capital or mentorship to students. Angels choose the combination of social and financial return that they prefer: from mentorship, to full scholarship to a quasi-equity investment.
